About Me

Published by Meagan

Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. - Miriam Beard

Hi everyone! My name is Meagan and I am a senior at Georgia Tech. My major is International Affairs and Modern Languages with a concentration in Japanese and a certificate in Asian Affairs. I have also taken Spanish and Thai. My interests are learning languages, traveling, taking pictures of everything that happens, missions work, construction, helping people in general, music, and reading when it’s not for class. During my sophomore year I received a grant for undergraduate research for my project, “Promoting Social Mobility by Improving Affirmative Action.” I am very involved in Georgia Tech’s Christian Campus Fellowship, and through them I recently traveled to Bangkok, Thailand for 6 1/2 months to study abroad with a program called Globalscope. This picture was taken at Angkor Wat in August of 2006 while on “holiday in Cambodia.”

What are some of my favorite things, you ask?

Tea! Anything from a good southern sweet tea to matcha to a Malaysian highlands black tea, I’m pretty much in love. This picture was taken at the BOH Tea Plantation in the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.

Mountains! When I’m not at Tech, I reside in the North Georgia Mountains. It may be just the beginning of the Appalachian range, but the mountains are beautiful in the fall. I’ve seen the Rockies in both Colorado and Alaska, the Alps, and the Andes, but they never get old!

Traveling! I think this picture of me in Cambodia accurately describes me - I read up on where I’m going and take tons of photos once I’m there. Thanks to Stephanie, my fellow adventurer, for the picture.

Georgia Tech Football!

Thrashers!

And my new favorite thing, the Atlanta Thrashers!
