We have the afternoon free today, so I opted for quiet and productive by choosing the internet cafe instead of the mall. It’s taking forever to upload pictures on this thing, so you’ll just get the main ideas from pictures instead of everything I’m seeing. That is, atleast, until I find a faster internet connection. I have been spoiled by Georgia Tech.
I think the easiest thing to do will be to show and describe what’s been going on in list form. Here we go.
Our apartment is pretty great. We’re trying to figure out how we can rig a hammock to our itty bitty porch. Out bathroom is pretty fun, minus the vent that lets out steam and lets hot air and bugs in. We’ve already put up tons of photos.
Hanging out at the Grapevine is a lot of fun. Yesterday we had Thai lessons from Ja, Goi, and Uh-oh, played Apples to Apples, and watched Rushmore. That’s also where we had the crazy Fear Factor eating contest with the crazy dried fish you see below. They see you too.
It’s really hot here. I just thought I’d add that. We had a scavenger hunt (more like the amazing race with checkpoints) today and it was a lot of fun but really hot. The best part was meeting by the Naga, or giant serpents by the stadium. Aren’t they amazing?
There are lots of other pictures if you click on my photo page, either from the link to Flickr on the side bar or from the top menu. Do check them out, and leave comments too. I’d love to hear what you think!
Stephanie and I are going to check out the local coffee shop and work on our email newsletters. Weather.com says that it’s 98 here and because of the humidity it feels like 109! I can believe it.

I apologize that it has taken me so long to update. I don’t have internet in my room, and since I’ve been here everything has been go go go, so I rarely get a chance to sit down in the internet cafe. I will be trying to post pictures soon.
This past week has been a bit of a blur. We have moved into our apartment in VKP Mansion, and it’s pretty nice. It has a small porch and the shower that is the whole bathroom. It also has hot water, which is nice sometimes. It’s been very, very hot. Thank goodness for prickly heat powder and air conditioning. Concerning getting around, we went on a scavenger hunt on Friday that took place at the mall. Our team had to take a bus to the mall, which was great because we don’t speak very much Thai. Yesterday we went into Bangkok for church, registering at the hospital, and shopping. The malls are crazy! The newest one, The Paragon, or the “glorious phenomenon” as its advertising says, was crazy - 7 floors of the most expensive designer labels you’ve ever heard of.
We cleaned up the Grapevine on Saturday. It’s a fun place, and we had Thai lessons there today. Uh-oh said that I don’t have an American accent when I try to speak it, which was the biggest compliment ever. We have our first Grapejam (bible study) this Tuesday!
I have so much to say and it’s really scattered, so I’m sorry about that.
The food is great and I discovered that putting sugar on rice tastes amazing!
I’m really not sure what else to add right now, but I will be trying to upload photos soon, and then I’ll make a very detailed update for you.
Please keep sending me emails or messages. I really love it and I apologize again if it takes me awhile to be able to respond. I’ll get a routine sometime soon, and when school starts I’ll have wireless on campus.
Love you all!

Hi! I’m in Tokyo Narita airport. We’ll probably board soon. The flight has been crazy long and I only slept for a few minutes off and on.
I love you all! Thanks for visiting me at the airport and at CCF and sending me messages. It really means a lot to me!
