I’m 20 now.

It’s strange. I feel like I should look different or act different as a 20 year old. As I am no longer a teenager, I’d assume that something would be different, but obviously it is not. Chris and I went to Chow Baby for dinner. All you can eat stir fry and you get to pick your own ingredients - it’s loads of fun. I highly recommend it.
Earlier today Kerry and I went to the Atlanta Humane Society over on 10th Street and played with all of the puppies and kitties. This, of course, was a dangerous idea as we now want to adopt most of them. Missy, this adorable 2 month old puppy, was my favorite. She’s a shepherd - border collie mix and positively the softest puppy you’ll ever meet. She has little ears with curly fur on them and a very small tuft of white fur on her chest. Because she has some German Shepherd in her, her coat has a bit of a brown sheen to it, but only from an angle. She chewed on our wrists and thighs and rolled all across our laps the whole time we were holding her. She never barked, but just played with us. She was very upset when we had to leave. I would love so much to bring her home, but there are a few obstacles in the way.

1. I live in a dormitory.
2. 7 weeks from now I will be leaving for Thailand for 6 1/2 months.
3. I’m a student with a schedule that doesn’t really allow for puppies.
4. My parents would shoot me.

Nonetheless, she’s adorable and needs a good home.

I received tons of ‘happy birthday’ messages, so thank you all. Kerry and Jill both gave me wonderful books for my trip, No Touch Monkey and The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2005. I can’t wait to read them. Melissa gave me some coloring books / word searches that should keep me occupied on my 27 hour flight. Yes, that’s right - 27 hours or so.

Seeing as I have a lot of homework and studying to do, I’m going to get working.

Chow Baby was great, good food and great enviroment. I am looking forward to the slices of cheesecake that are waiting in the fridge. There will be no puppies, you’ll have to wait darling.

meagan you are sooooooooo old!!!!! i’m glad you had a great time, maybe next year we can have a big 21st party :)
kerry, you met a dog named glenn fry? dang. does he sing?
meagan, i had a similar experience with the humane society. ryan took me there a couple of years ago to look at kittens, it might have been my birthday too. so i looked at kittens and petted kittens and i was absolutely dying to take one home, but similar obstacles … college life doesn’t lend itself to pets. plus, i have a cat at my parents’ house that my parents would practically pay me to take off their hands :)
