The King & I

Published by Meagan at 5:36 am under Georgia Tech

I’m feeling a little better about this site now. Do check out the pictures page. I’ll be updating that regularly once I’m gone. The picture that you see in the header of this page is from Thailand, and hopefully I’ll be replacing it with pictures of my own once I get there.

This week is looking unbelievably slow considering my semester. It looks like I better start getting ahead, or catch up, depending upon which class we’re talking about. Hopefully I’ll get a lot of PURA hours in…

Tonight Stephanie, Jesse, Leslie, Corey, and I went with Brian Tomlin to The King & I restaurant. Brian went to Thailand 2 years ago, so he told us all sorts of things to keep in mind. It was great food, and Brian even ordered in Thai. Brian talked to us about things to do and things not to do, like don’t point your feet at people or talk bad about the royalty, but do bow when you see people. He also taught us dining ettiquete, and a few simple phrases in Thai. I think I’ll remember them more once I see them written down. I orded garlic chicken, and Stephanie got Basil chicken, both are really common in Thailand, Brian said. We both thought hers was really spicy, but Brian says it’s mild.

I need to call the Health Center to make sure I have all the immunizations I need. I’m almost done with the transfer approval forms, and I’m waiting patiently (not at all) to see if I received that award from IAC.
